January was a blast.
and instead of doing a million posts
(which will take too long to write)
i just want to share some awesome moments
that covered a great birthday month.
(because you can't celebrate your birthday on just a day.
the party has to last the whole month).
and it did.
1. playing with juliet (and seeing her try to walk--it's so dang cute!)
2. fantastic friends enjoying my birthday at El Cholo
3. and then afterwards at the Greenfield girls apt...
with cheesecake...
4. trying out a Diner, Drive-in and Dive restaurant.
Gloria's Mexican & Salvadorean Restaurant.
Gloria's Mexican & Salvadorean Restaurant.
OUTSTANDING.
I got the pork adobado. Delish.
5. Bryan's band concert.
he's my little renaissance man
(somewhere in the last row more on the right-hand side).
6. hanging out with my gorgeous little sis, Marie
7. DISNEYLAND!
(I know, I know.. I've done it all before...
but it just never gets old!)
Kenny and Ali gearin' up to go..
"Captain EO" *i.e. Michael Jackson in 3D
(if you haven't seen this, you need to).
This was my first exposure to Michael Jackson as a child.
It is the classic 3D movie Disney showed in the 80's and 90's
before "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience."
Kenny with his cape... of course
the Wonderful World of Color
was absolutely spectacular
8. Dutch Date on the roof
(this is my date, Stephen... and i'm not telling you what roof
because we probably shouldn't have been up on it... lol)
9. trip to San Luis Obispo.
scenery on the way...
we stopped in Solvang (of course)
gotta have something from Mortensen's Bakery
Grandma sportin' her short hair...
the view from the front of President and Sister Andrus' home in SLO
and I got to see Brittany while I was in SLO...
(this is an old pic of the two of us, but I've missed her and I'm really
excited that she's moving back to Simi Valley)
we went to dinner at a fabulous restaurant.
firestone grill.
yum
So basically, as you can see, I feel like all I've been doing this month is playing.
Good food, good friends, good family, good scenery, good fun.
What a birthday month.
I don't think it'll be easy to top 2011's January.

Mortensen's represent! Whoooo!
And Stephen, as in French horn???
No wonder you left Utah. You're having way more fun there! So, I'm going to copy you...
1. I love that you went to a place from Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Yum.
2. I am jealous you went to Disneyland, of course.
3. What the heck is a "Dutch Date"? And is that really the only picture of your date??
4. Wow, San Luis Obispo is BEAUTIFUL. I want to visit.
5. Mortensen's bakery looks SO delicious. I curse you for posting the picture of their food.
6. Your Grandma is cute.
7. I'm glad you're coming to visit in March! :)
@Deveny: nope. Stephen as in home teacher.
@JSchro: a Dutch Date is a date where you pay for yourself. The ward put it on. Everyone signed up that wanted to participate and then we were paired "randomly" (unless you made a special request). And then we were put into groups of 2-3 couples and we all went to a restaurant together, but we paid for ourselves. I guess the self-payment is what constitutes "Dutch." I promise, we're not all from Holland. That would be weird.
It all looks so fun KaRynn! I'm a bit jealous :) My favs were the California scenery, that delicious looking bakery, and the cute Dutch town pictures.
