sunshine

Hello all. Sorry for my complete absence from the blogging community. I've been playing for the last two weeks in beautiful sunshine--one week in Utah (before it snowed), and one week in California (of course there's no snow)... (pictures and details coming soon).

My vacation is most definitely over. And i'm really glad i went when i did. I needed the break, which gave me the recharge i needed for the emotional roller-coaster and hectic-ness of this week and the coming months. Right before i left, we found out that my Grandma's cancer was most likely back. And while i was gone, a catscan confirmed this. Starting tomorrow, we are back to the weekly grind of fighting for life.

One bright moment this week was a gift that my sister sent to my grandmother. Grandma has been having a rough time (understandably), and Sarah sent a sweet gift. It's a mason jar filled with bright yellow strips of paper with uplifting scriptures on them. And the little note on the jar says "Read one a day for a bit of hope." The sign on the jar itself says "Daily Sunshine." Grandma loves it. She reads one a day out loud to me and Grandpa and then tapes the little rays of sunshine (because that's what they are) on the fridge.
Thanks, Sarah.
